Genealogy Society

The Peace River and District Genealogy Society is a non-profit organization based in the Peace River Region. The group joined the Alberta Genealogy Society in May 2000.

The Society provides people interested in their family history with a network of individuals who can provide support and assistance with genealogical research and resources.

The group meets on the third Thursday of each month (excluding July, August and December) at 7:00 p. m. at the Peace River Public Library, unless a special event is being planned that month. Please contact the library or visit the Genealogy Society website below.

Memberships cost $40 per year or $35 for seniors. This rate includes the $30 membership rate or $25 for seniors to the Alberta Genealogy Society. Everyone is welcome! You do not have to be a member to attend one of our monthly meetings or special events.

At the library we have a number of genealogy books, CDs, periodicals and microfiche. Microfilm and microfiche readers are also available.

For more information, please contact Denise Fortier, or by phone at 780-624-4169 in the evenings only. You can also visit our website.
