Volunteering at the Library

There are several ways to volunteer at the Library:

Library Board

The Library Board is an essential part of library operations.  The Board meets on the second Thursday of each month.  The amount of work involved and time committment required will depend on whether or not you take on an executive position or join a committee within the Board.  If you are interested in having a say in how your public library is run, this is the place to be!  Applications are available here.

Fiends of the Library

The Friends of the Library is a separate group that meets sparatically throughout the year to plan and execute fund raising projects to help the Library equipment, furniture, and other such things that are outside what our budget allows.  Members are free to choose which projects they are wish to participate in.  If you ar interested in joining the Friends of the Library, call the Library to find out when the next meeting will be held.

There are always things that need doing around the Library.  There is quite a list of activities to keep volunteers busy.  If you would like a more hands on way of helping at the Library, fill out a volunteer application form and have a talk with our Programs Coordinator.  She can help you figure out where your skills would best be used and find times that fit in with your schedule.
